The Sunrise Honey Master is a versatile temperature controller designed primarily for use in the production of natural honey, but with many possible uses. Its regulation is accomplished by a highly sensitive temperature probe. The unit is designed to control attached 110 VAC devices up to 20 amps continuous. The sensor probe is placed into the environment to be controlled and the 110 VAC device is plugged into the rear of the Honey Master.
The Sunrise Honey Master has only two components, the controller and the sensor probe shown on top. Both the controlled device and the sensor probe attach to the rear by simple plugs. Set the high temperature while depressing top red button, and adjusting the knob to the extreme left and below the giant 3.5-digit display. In like manner set the lower temperature with the lower red push button, and the right knob under the display. Finally set any time from 1 to 4 hours with the right most knob.
The line shown on the front of the unit illustrates the Sunrise Honey Master response. Beginning at extreme left, this point represents the beginning/ambient temperature. The top line shows the upper temperature (upper set temperature). The length of the top line indicates the length of time the upper temperature is held, and is determined by the control knob on the extreme right. When the time for the upper temperature expires, the heater turns off and temperature drops to the lower line (lower set temperature) and remains there indefinitely, or until the Honey Master is reset. Setting both high and low to the same temperature will result in a continuous holding temperature for an indefinite time.
Let me explain some scenarios. If you have a drum or honey you need to liquefy in order to pump to your bottling tank>>>>> Drop in the probe, set the Honey Master whatever high temperature and time required. Now set the temperature you want it to hold at by adjusting the lower temperature. Lock the door, turn out the lights, go home and leave it until its done Example might be 130F for 1 hour and a holding temperature of 105F. When you return your honey will be liquid and holding at the lower setting.
Install your heater bands in a standard manner, plug them into the outlet on the rear of the Honey Master and set the bands to their maximum setting. The Honey Master will control devices up to 20 amps at 110VAC.
Here, heat strips plugged, sensor simply laying on top of the semi-solid honey. Good practice is to place near center of the barrel and attach a weight on sensor end so as honey melts it will sink to bottom or barrel.
Set your upper, process temperature and time.
Set your lower holding temperature.
As honey is liquefied the sensor probe has descended to the bottom and the honey is holding at lower set temperature.
Another use is with your bottling tank. In likewise manner, set the higher temperature to a comfortable bottling setting, a desired time and finally a lower setting for the honey to remain when you are done. Set it and don’t worry about it again. When you are ready to bottle again, depress the reset button (black push button in upper right), the unit will ascend to the upper bottling temperature for you to begin bottling. When you are done, turn out the lights and go home to a restful evening.
Do you have honey needing to be liquefied in its marketed container? Sunrise Bee & Honey, LLC has wholesale customers and finds it a regular occurrence and necessary for good customer satisfaction. Pictured is a refrigeration unit repurposed for honey liquidation and temperature controlled with the Sunrise Honey Master. Also below is a short video showing the controller regulating at a setting of 120F which is the temperature being maintained for reheating the honey in the heat chamber. Notice the left light. When heating elements are on, the LED light illuminates, and drops when the 120f setting is maintained. The probe is simply placed in the air of the enclosed heat chamber. A single element hot plate is the heat source.
Other uses could be closely controlled heat chambers for raising queens. Still another is controlling wax temperatures in a similar manner. The Sunrise Honey Master controls temperatures from 32F to 200F in .1 degree F adjustable increments. If you have questions, or want to place an order, please call Curtis at 601-307-7188.
